Day 21- St. Louis

Day 21- St. Louis

Hello everyone!!It’s your favorite bloggers, the Grumpy’s! We know you missed us. Anyways, we are here to tell you about everything that happened today! This morning we awoke around 5:30am, bright and early. We gathered our sleeping stuff and bags to head out. We drove to a gas station and then we were on our way to Wal-Mart. The cooks bought food for dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow. After that we drove for a while and most people slept. For breakfast we had pop-tarts, strawberries and oranges. Then we made our way to Missouri.

Once it was time for lunch, we were served bread, peanut butter, nutella, marshmallow fluff, and/or grape jelly.  For sides we had gummies and strawberries. We then drove for a few more hours and once we started to see the St. Louis skyline we knew we were getting close.

We finally pulled up at the Archway to the West, also known as the St. Louis Arch. One side overlooks the Mississippi River and the other overlooks the city. We went up to the top in trains. It was a 4 minute trip up and a 3 minute trip down. The trains had 8 “eggs” and they each held 5 people. It was a little cramped in there and it got a little warmer on the way up and then when you were coming back down. After everyone had gone up and came back down, we all headed out to the lawn that was visible from the top of the arch. Every TWB group has a tradition to spell out something with people’s bodies.

Our group decided to do USA #1 with a star. After we did all that, there was time for pictures. Then, we had to drive about an hour to our campsite in Illinois. We have a nice camping area in a cul-de-sac. It has a lot of room and we aren’t cramped. The only bad thing is the amount of bugs and gnats. Everyone has lathered themselves in bug spray. Some people decided to head to the showers and others just wanted to chill before dinner.

For dinner we had spaghetti, salad, buttered bread, and either a slice of cake or cookies. After dinner, the dishwashers washed the dishes, some went to shower, and some played games. Tonight we will have our last sing-along as a TWB family. LL We are double sad, if you can’t tell. Anyways, hope you enjoyed hearing about today! We will talk to you again tomorrow. This is the Grumpy’s signing out. Peace, Love, and Grumpiness.
