Hello everyone!! It’s the Grumpy’s coming at you with the
latest TWB update. Today we woke up at 5:30. Kinda seems crazy that tomorrow is
our last day together as a TWB family. L
We packed up the bus and the vans and were on our way to our next stop, the
Kentucky Derby!! For breakfast we had bagels, cream cheese, peanut butter, and
apples.
We arrived at Churchill Downs at 10:30, but since we went through our
last time change it was actually 11:30. We are finally back on home time! After
listening to Whitley, Caroline, and Reggie give their research; we went on a
tour of Churchill Downs. It was very interesting. The price of tickets is super
expensive. General admission was $80 (standing), tickets with seats were
anywhere from $300-$15,000, maybe even more, depending on where you’re sitting.
When we left the cooks served us lunch. We had ham sandwiches on Hawaiian
Rolls. For a side we had chips, cookies, and oranges. Before we headed to our
next destination, we were instructed to sit with our groups. There was a group
on each of the vans and then the remaining four groups were on the bus in
sections. We sat this way because we needed to plan out our skit for later (you
can see the results in the pictures below). We planned and planned.
The 2.5
hours seemed to fly! We had now arrived at the original KFC in North Corbin,
Kentucky. The cooks headed inside to set up the Buffet line for us and then
groups were called in to get their food. It was yummy!! We had chicken, mashed
potatoes, gravy, mac n cheese, and green beans.
After we were full, we headed to our campsite
for the night, Levi Jackson State Park in London, Kentucky. We didn’t unpack
anything until after our performances were done! They were all so funny. The
Bashfuls went first, then the Dopey’s, Grumpy’s, Happy’s, Sleepy’s, and last
but not least the Sneezy’s. At the end we had a surprise performance from the
Counselors, Heather, Payton, Jackson, Chris, Rachel, and the V. The most
popular topics were the sprinklers, Chris and his “I don’t knows”, Taylor’s
missing camera, Doctor Jackson, and little Jackson with his pepto bismol and
motion sickness, prescribed patch. The Grumpy’s took the crown for this
competition. The overall winner for the trip was the Sleepy’s. After the
competition, we all headed up to the bus and vans to unpack and then sleep.
Everyone is excited to be home and see their families and friends but sad to
